Filmed in different parts of Russia telling stories about the struggle of local residents for their land. The film characters are retired people from Karelia who defended Sunsky forest, residents of the Voronezh Region, protesting against the development of nickel deposits, members of environmental watchdog "Ecovacht in the North Caucasus". Grassroots environmental activity in Perm and Chelyabinsk are also documented.
